Only one arrest for shoplifting Thursday. Not much else going on.
A juvenile left a local school at about 12:30 in the afternoon, telling staff he was going
to jump in front of a car. He was taken to the hospital for a mental health
There were a few instances of larceny reports and a few
arrests based on warrants, but as Lt. John Catone explained to me last week
when I asked about them, they are often bench warrants issued by judges.
He said bench warrants mean that a judge orders police to
bring someone before him/her. Often, Catone said, the people are let go after
court and it doesn’t actually constitute an arrest.
Furthermore, he said if
someone is arrested for the first time on a warrant, they report it to us as a
